SecurityPal's Partnership with Team Dayā to Support Education in Rural Nepal

Our Initiative with Team Dayā

This Spring 2024, SecurityPal is proud to announce our collaboration with Team Dayā, an esteemed group dedicated to building primary schools in some of the most impoverished communities worldwide. We're providing matching funds towards constructing a primary school in the Western Terai region of Nepal, my homeland. This initiative is more than a project; it's a commitment to making a generational impact in areas plagued by high rates of illiteracy and poverty.

Why Education in Nepal Matters

My personal journey, from a small village in the Western Terai to leading SecurityPal, underlines the transformative power of education. Our decision to open the SecurityPal Security Operations Command Center in Kathmandu last year was a step towards contributing to Nepal's emerging tech hub. Now, with Team Dayā, we extend this commitment to the rural regions, aiming to kindle hope and opportunity for young minds.

The Challenge and Our Goal

Nepal's battle with poverty and illiteracy is a stark reality, with over 4.5 million people living below the poverty line and a significant portion of the population being illiterate. Gender and caste discrimination further exacerbate this challenge, making education inaccessible to many. By partnering with Team Dayā, we aim to address these inequalities head-on and open doors to education for all children, regardless of their background.

Our initial contribution of $10,000 is just the beginning. We're dedicated to raising the remaining funds needed to bring this vision to life. It costs $40,000 to build a three-room schoolhouse, and every contribution brings us closer to this goal.

Since 2018, Team Dayā has been a beacon of hope, building schools and uplifting communities in Nepal, Senegal, Guatemala, Malawi, and Nicaragua. Their approach of collaborating with local communities ensures that the impact of each project is sustainable and deeply rooted in the local context.
